The Regent of Ashaiman, Nii Annang Adjor, has vowed to take action against the municipal assembly, joining the frustrations of residents over the shoddy execution of a road project in the area.<\/p>\n
Nii Annang Adjor told Citi News<\/strong>,\u00a0that there seemed to be no assessments undertaken by the contractor before the road was constructed.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”NSUPL1V0U9TG0nMnjVigNfAL23zzs8VR”]\u201cHave they done any studies on the weight that comes through that road? When you talk about proper roads, you consider all the trucks that go on the road; the friction and the weight. The thickness of the asphalt is very light and after they poured it, they just left it. When the big trucks are turning they take off the coating.\u201d<\/p>\n Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Tema correspondent, Elvis Washington, reported yesterday[Monday] that the road was deteriorating, just a few weeks after completion, with many huge potholes clearly visible.<\/p>\n Nii Annang Adjor says the project is a waste of \u00a0the tax payers’ money, given the poor nature of the road.<\/p>\n \u201cI cry within my soul that we are wasting money. All these roads are very bad. What kind of development are we talking about in Ghana and in Ashaiman? It\u2019s a problem. So one of these days we\u2019ll move to assembly to ask them about all of these things. It\u2019s a problem and a worry to the municipality.\u201d<\/p>\n The Regent of Ashaiman backed calls from residents for the government to recall the contractor back on site to fix the situation.<\/p>\n
