{"id":237297,"date":"2016-08-07T10:08:27","date_gmt":"2016-08-07T10:08:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=237297"},"modified":"2016-08-07T10:08:27","modified_gmt":"2016-08-07T10:08:27","slug":"19-persons-die-in-accident-at-subiriso-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=237297","title":{"rendered":"19 die in accident at Subiriso [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nineteen people, including the driver of the Ford Mini bus\u00a0they were in, \u00a0were killed yesterday in a tragic accident at Subiriso, near Wassa Akropong in the Amenfi East District of the Western Region.<\/p>\n<p>The bus was travelling from Bogoso to Obuasi in the Ashanti Region when it collided with a truck loaded with bags of cement last night [Saturday] around 7:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Accident-Su.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-237301\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Accident-Su-1024x614.jpg\" alt=\"Accident Su\" width=\"620\" height=\"372\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Wassa Amenfi East District Police commander ASP Agyekum Nipa says the bus hit the rear of truck which, was\u00a0stationary at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the Ford bus reached Wassa Subiriso, which is not too far from Wassa Akropong, the bus hit the rear of the DAF articulated truck which was loaded with cement and had developed a mechanical fault\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that nineteen persons made up of eleven males and eight females sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Wassa Akropong Government Hospital.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Accident-Su1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-237302\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Accident-Su1-1024x614.jpg\" alt=\"Accident Su1\" width=\"620\" height=\"372\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter attending to the injured for some time, the doctor informed the police that they had all died and also added that the bodies had been sent to the mortuary\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>One dead in Santasi accident<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At least one person <a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/06\/one-feared-dead-in-santasi-accident-photos\/\"><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>died in an accident<\/strong><\/span><\/a> at Santasi Anyinam, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Santasi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-237228\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Santasi-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Santasi\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Citi News\u2019 Ashanti Regional Correspondent Hawa Idrissu reported that several others sustained\u00a0varying degrees of injuries and were taken to the Komfo Anokye teaching hospital for treatment .<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>By: Franklin Badu Jnr\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nineteen people, including the driver of the Ford Mini bus\u00a0they were in, \u00a0were killed yesterday in a tragic accident at Subiriso, near Wassa Akropong in the Amenfi East District of the Western Region.
