{"id":237166,"date":"2016-08-06T11:32:25","date_gmt":"2016-08-06T11:32:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=237166"},"modified":"2016-08-06T11:32:25","modified_gmt":"2016-08-06T11:32:25","slug":"veep-verifies-his-name-in-voters-register","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=237166","title":{"rendered":"Veep verifies his name in voters&#8217; register"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has had his name verified in the voters\u2019 register.<\/p>\n<p>Amissah-Arthur, who has been retained as the running-mate of President John Dramani Mahama for December&#8217;s elections, was at the Accra High School polling station, where he votes, to check his details in the voters\u2019 roll.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_237169\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-237169\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Vice-President-Amissah-Arthur-verifying-his-name-on-the-voters-register.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-237169\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Vice-President-Amissah-Arthur-verifying-his-name-on-the-voters-register-1024x605.jpg\" alt=\"Vice President Amissah-Arthur verifying his name on the voters' register\" width=\"620\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-237169\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vice President Amissah-Arthur verifying his name on the voters&#8217; register<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Vice President joins the list of high-profile personalities who have taken part in the exhibition exercise.<\/p>\n<p>President Mahama <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/03\/mahama-verifies-name-on-voters-register\/\"><strong>verified his name<\/strong><\/a><\/span> on Wednesday at a polling station in the Bole\/Bamboi constituency in the Northern Region, which was swamped by enthusiastic supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).<\/p>\n<p>The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/08\/02\/nana-addo-verifies-his-name-on-voters-register\/\"><strong>Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo<\/strong><\/a><\/span>, was at the Rock of Ages B Exhibition Centre in the Akyem Abuakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region a day earlier.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_237167\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-237167\" style=\"width: 620px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Vice-President-Amissah-Arthur-going-through-the-verification-process.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-237167\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Vice-President-Amissah-Arthur-going-through-the-verification-process-1024x703.jpg\" alt=\"Vice President Amissah-Arthur going through the verification process\" width=\"620\" height=\"426\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-237167\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vice President Amissah-Arthur going through the verification process<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Other people including\u00a0Ghana\u2019s former <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/07\/22\/ex-president-kufour-verifies-his-name-on-voters-register\/\">President John Agyekum Kufuor<\/a><\/strong><\/span> and the NPP&#8217;s running-mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia have also had their names verified in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition exercise which commenced on Monday July 18 and ends on August 7, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The exercise will enable all voters to check their names in the register, and also help to delete \u2018undesirable\u2019 names on the electoral roll.
