Deputy Chief Executive in Charge of Finance and Investment of National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Alexander Odoi Nartey, has disclosed that the Authority will soon run Tele-medicine and ambulances services from its Call Centre.<\/p>\n
The Tele-medicine system makes it possible for a physician to prescribe drugs and other medicament via electronic medium to a patient and according to Mr Nartey, the initiative is to make quality healthcare more accessible and readily available to clients.<\/p>\n
He has therefore entreated workers of the NHIA to educate clients consistently on the toll free call centre number- 05444446447, which is usable on both Vodafone and MTN.<\/p>\n
Mr Nartey, who made this known at a durbar in the Western Region to interact with staff of the Authority, entreated them to work hard to sustain the good reputation of the NHIA both local and international.<\/p>\n
He said Ghana\u2019s NHIA model has become example for the international community, adding: \u201cWe need to share knowledge through working experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to him, management is working to surmount the challenges facing the Authority and urged the staff to work hard despite the limited resources.<\/p>\n
