Leading international tyre brand Continental Tire officially has opened its first warehouse for West Africa\u00a0in Ghana. The warehouse which is situated in the Tema Harbour with flexible storage capacity to accommodate our development in the region.<\/p>\n
As a part of Bollor\u00e9 Africa Logistics the warehousing facility is part of the organisations top-quality bonded logistics platforms situated a few kilometres from the port terminal.\u00a0 Bollor\u00e9 Africa logistics in Ghana provides over 90,000m\u00b2 of warehouses and storage areas.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe capacity of the facility allows us the opportunity and flexibility to expand as the market dictates\u201d, says Johann Liebenberg, Market Manager Continental Tire West Africa.<\/p>\n
Driven by the need to provide superior products and service to the West African market, the new facility will allow ease of access and increased capacity for quick and efficient distribution.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe expect delivery within 24-48 hours in Ghana and also a significant reduction in time to service the rest of the West African countries,\u201d says Liebenberg.<\/p>\n
Continental Tire is one of the leading manufacturers of PLT tyres in Europe and the world’s fourth largest passenger tire manufacturer in the original equipment and replacement market. The opening of the warehouse follows the successful launch of the company\u2019s new legal entity Continental Tire West Africa (CTWA) on the 20th<\/sup> of April 2016.<\/p>\n CTWA believes that the market holds enormous potential for all its brands including the fast growing General Tire range. \u201cWe wish to have our products close at hand and we will keep stock for the PLT, TT and CST segments of the market\u201d adds Liebenberg.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is an integral part of the success of our legal entity the premier levels of service we wish to offer.\u201d<\/p>\n The West African market is estimated to be in the region of over 8 million potential tyres in 2016, growing to over 12 million in 2025. CTWA ambitiously wishes to target a fair share of this market.<\/p>\n Tyres will be supplied via our plants in Europe, South Africa, Malaysia, and America, to only mention the main supplying areas.
