The flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, will take her turn at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA)’s Conversation Series on Wednesday July 27, 2016.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”VnhgFpowRLsuPU8nG2bL6JVR1xyoIj5t”]Nana Konadu, who broke away from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) – a party founded by her husband, Jerry John Rawlings, was\u00a0confirmed back in May as the Presidential Candidate of the NDP for the elections.<\/p>\n

The programme\u00a0will be the third\u00a0of four scheduled events\u00a0with the presidential candidates of the People’s National Convention (PNC), New Patriotic Party (NPP),\u00a0Convention People’s Party (CPP) and the NDP and will be broadcast live on Citi 97.3 FM.<\/p>\n

The flagbearer of the the PNC, Dr. Edward Mahama, was the first at the IEA Conversation Series\u00a0and\u00a0promised, among other things, to decouple\u00a0the Attorney General’s department<\/strong><\/span><\/a> from the Ministry of Justice and make fixing the power crisis his top priority<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ivor Greenstreet, who was elected the flagbearer of the CPP earlier this year, promised to set up a credible National Identification system after six months of assuming office and\u00a0deal with corruption in state institutions.<\/p>\n

He also stated that, his party would\u00a0provide cheap electricity<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>for Ghanaians\u00a0by tapping into the\u00a0wind resource should they be voted into power.<\/p>\n

The flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo Addo, who was initially set to appear at the IEA platform on\u00a0July 5, will now do so on August 9.<\/p>\n

The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), have decided to boycott the IEA’s events after a disagreement with the Institute over its failure to\u00a0engage the parties enough in its plans for the debates ahead of the polls.<\/p>\n
