A farmer caught with 10,940 grams of marijuana, has been ordered by a Kumasi Circuit Court to be held in prison custody.<\/p>\n
Kwame Adu was arrested with the substance by the police at Esaase, a community in the Bosome-Freho District.<\/p>\n

The court, presided over by Mrs. Mary Nsenkyire, directed that he make his next appearance on Tuesday, July 26.<\/p>\n
Police Superintendent Emmanuel Akunnor said officers from the Ashanti Regional Drug Law Enforcement Unit acted upon a tip off.<\/p>\n
They received information that the accused had been dealing in illicit drugs and swiftly moved to his place, where a search uncovered the leaves packed in fertilizer sacks and cement bags.<\/p>\n
He told the court that Adu admitted ownership of the stuff.<\/p>\n
The prosecution said forensic laboratory test of samples of the leaves confirmed it was marijuana.<\/p>\n
