{"id":231282,"date":"2016-07-15T12:10:27","date_gmt":"2016-07-15T12:10:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=231282"},"modified":"2016-07-15T12:10:27","modified_gmt":"2016-07-15T12:10:27","slug":"family-friends-gather-to-mourn-danny-nettey-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=231282","title":{"rendered":"Family, friends gather to mourn Danny Nettey [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fans of Ghanaian gospel artiste, Daniel Nettey have gathered at his residence to mourn with his family, following his demise.<\/p>\n<p>The Gospel legend,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/07\/15\/gospel-legend-danny-nettey-passes-o\"><strong>died <\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>in the early hours of Friday.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-231315 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/danny-netteys-house-4-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"danny netteys house (4)\" width=\"773\" height=\"435\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Citi News\u2019<\/strong> Lorrencia Nkrumah who visited Danny Nettey\u2019s residence said: \u201cit\u2019s quite a solemn gathering here of family members and close friends.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have seen some gospel ministers here. One is Minister Amankwah; one of the guys who worked with Danny Nettey. He was crying uncontrollably when I entered and I have seen his sisters. I have seen his brothers-in-law and some of the family members as well. It is a sad situation here but they have all gathered. No one is speaking for now,\u201dshe added.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-231313 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/danny-netteys-house-3-1024x700.jpg\" alt=\"danny netteys house (3)\" width=\"695\" height=\"475\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Danny Nettey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He begun his music career with his own group, \u2018Danny Nettey and Pals,\u2019 which focused on ministry in Secondary Schools and churches.<\/p>\n<p>Nettey released his debut album, \u2018Positive Change\u2019, in 1995 which ushered in the contemporary style of gospel music in Ghana and endeared him to many young people back then.<\/p>\n<p>He followed that album with two more, \u2018This Time\u2019 and \u2018I believe\u2019. Over the course of his music career, Nettey ministered alongside the likes of Bishop T. D.
