{"id":231000,"date":"2016-07-14T14:39:38","date_gmt":"2016-07-14T14:39:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=231000"},"modified":"2016-07-14T14:39:38","modified_gmt":"2016-07-14T14:39:38","slug":"ghana-can-replicate-ivory-coasts-success-story-abu-jinapor-insists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=231000","title":{"rendered":"Ghana can replicate Ivory Coast&#8217;s success story &#8211; Abu Jinapor insists \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has hit back at the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) for claiming that Nana Akufo-Addo is deceiving Ghanaians when he compared Ghana\u2019s growth to that of <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/05\/09\/cote-dlvoires-economy-now-better-than-ours-nana-addo\/\"><strong>Cote d\u2019Ivoire<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, who is on a campaign tour across the country ahead of this year\u2019s election, has constantly spoken highly of the developmental strides being made by Cote d\u2019Ivoire under the leadership of Alassane Ouattara.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;p84LVNQ2WCwjWVssmejaNS0icu2ATeND&#8221;]Nana Akufo-Addo has said Cote d\u2019Ivoire has successfully overcome the effects of its 2011 civil conflict, and become an economic powerhouse in Africa due to good leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Nana Addo had promised to chart a similar course if elected President in the November polls.<\/p>\n<p>But government has described Nana Akufo-Addo\u2019s reference to Cote d\u2019Ivoire as a perfect development example as a coverlet analysis which lacks basis.<\/p>\n<p>A Deputy Communications Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has said Ghana has seen higher growth rates than Cote d\u2019Ivoire saying Ghana is better than Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n<p>But\u00a0speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>a Private Legal Practitioner and member of the NPP, Samuel Abu Jinapor, said the quality of leadership being offered in Ivory Coast is exactly what Nana Akufo Addo will do here in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all know what happened in Ivory Coast, that country was in tatters; and it took Alassane Ouattara to make it what it is today, and that is what Nana Akufo Addo is talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abu Jinapor argued that \u201cthe Ivorian model Nana Addo is talking about is what he intends to implement in Ghana if elected President.
