PRESS\u00a0\u00a0RELEASE\u00a0\u00a0ISSUED\u00a0\u00a0BY\u00a0\u00a0THE\u00a0\u00a0DIRECTORATE\u00a0\u00a0OF\u00a0\u00a0THE\u00a0\u00a0UPPER\u00a0\u00a0EAST REGIONAL\u00a0\u00a0EXECUTIVES \u00a0ON THE SUSPENSION OF TWO NATIONAL EXECUTIVE MEMBERS<\/strong><\/p>\nWe the Upper East Regional Executive of the Convention People\u2019s Party (CPP), wish to express our disappointment of\u00a0the attitude of the General Secretary, Nii Amarh Akomfrah and the National Youth Organiser, Ernesto Yeboah,\u00a0\u00a0for flouting the\u00a0\u00a0party\u2019s\u00a0\u00a0directives.<\/p>\n
We the Upper East\u00a0\u00a0Regional Executives of the CPP viewed the comments of\u00a0\u00a0the General Secretary and the National Youth Organizer of the party,\u00a0\u00a0cautioning the flag-bearer of the Party, Mr. Ivor Greenstreet,\u00a0\u00a0for not consulting the party\u2019s\u00a0\u00a0hierarchy\u00a0\u00a0before\u00a0\u00a0making comments about\u00a0\u00a0the Car Gift Saga\u2019 involving President John Dramani Mahama , as very unfortunate and baseless.<\/p>\n
We the Upper East Regional Executives must also emphasized that the decision of\u00a0\u00a0the National Youth Organizer of the party,\u00a0\u00a0Mr. Ernesto Yeboah,\u00a0\u00a0to\u00a0\u00a0file a petition to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) asking the institution to investigate the President over the allegation without also consulting the top hierarchy of the CPP party as a violation against the party\u2019s rules and regulation. These acts, we note, simply\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0flouted\u00a0\u00a0the party procedures and is contrary to the collective position of the party.<\/p>\n
We wish to state emphatically that the youth in the fifteen constituencies in the Upper East Region also disassociate themselves from the National Youth Organizer,\u00a0\u00a0for his petition to \u00a0CHRAJ to investigate the President Car\u00a0\u00a0Gift Saga.<\/p>\n
We the Upper East Regional Executives of the CPP , therefore, by this Press Release are\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0calling on the two suspended national executives to cease fire and to accept the suspension and to face the disciplinary committee for the sake of the party\u2019s\u00a0\u00a0unity.<\/p>\n
The two must take\u00a0\u00a0note that the\u00a0\u00a0chastising\u00a0\u00a0of the flag-bearer and other National Leadership of the Party by them in the media landscape\u00a0\u00a0does not only\u00a0\u00a0affect\u00a0\u00a0the flag-bearer\u00a0\u00a0and other National Leadership of the Party,\u00a0\u00a0but also affect all the Regional , Constituency and Polling Station Executives\u00a0\u00a0of the party including the party\u2019s\u00a0\u00a0Parliamentary Candidates\u00a0\u00a0aspirants .<\/p>\n
The two suspended National Executives must rescind their decision and face the disciplinary Committee. It is very important for the two to note that suspension does not mean one has been expelled from the party. One could be exonerated if one has a good case to make about his or her action or inaction before the Disciplinary Committee.<\/p>\n
To sum up, we\u00a0\u00a0the leadership\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0of the CPP in the Upper East Region,\u00a0\u00a0stand the flag-bearer and the Chairman and the leader of our great party\u00a0\u00a0and\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0are therefore,\u00a0\u00a0prevailing upon the two suspended National Executives of the CPP to view the party as supreme above\u00a0\u00a0their parochial interest,\u00a0\u00a0particularly at this\u00a0\u00a0crucial period when the party is gaining more ground to win the 2016 general election.<\/p>\n
