The Minority in Parliament wants the President to appoint a new Power Minister to head the sector as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
According to the Minority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the magnitude of challenges in the power sector requires a steady hand to manage the ministry.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”cIEAC0VASIEdwzLC7KHrT6Atuu9WRM6S”]The Minority was commenting on a letter from the Presidency to Parliament on the appointment of three Deputy Ministers for the Eastern region, Foreign Affairs and Local Government.<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2026the sudden transition that affected our own colleague Dr. Kwabena Donkor and because of the affliction this nation is experiencing, wouldn\u2019t it be prudent to have a substituted minister of Power?\u201d<\/p>\n
But the Deputy Majority Leader, Alfred Agbesi, responded to the concerns saying the Minority should mind their own business.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe has raised a good point but what I want to tell him is that, there is a popular saying that \u2018di wo fie asem\u2019 [mind your own business].\u201d<\/p>\n
Since the Minister of Power, Dr. Kwabena Donkor resigned from the position in December 2015; the ministry has been under the supervision of the Minister of Finance, Seth Terkper.<\/p>\n
He is being assisted by the Deputy Power Minister, Abu Jinapor.<\/p>\n
Dr. Donkor stepped down<\/strong><\/a><\/span> following his failure to fulfill his promise of solving the power crisis.\u00a0Meanwhile, seven months after the Minister’s resignation, the President\u00a0is yet to make a replacement.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
