The President of policy think tank, IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe has said the two Montie FM panelists who threatened the lives of judges in the country deserve to \u201crot in jail.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to him, the comments were\u00a0\u201cdespicable\u201d hence they must be dealt with appropriately.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou don\u2019t pamper people like this, because these guys sit on radio, they\u2019ve not done it to just one person, they\u2019ve done it to several decent people in this country and we\u2019ve got to deal with them. I say, lock them, put them to jail, let them rot, I don\u2019t care,\u201d Franklin Cudjoe said on Citi FM\u2019s News Analysis programme, The Big Issue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”NugKEoV1BNd4pRlQX14ipQ8KvB5dnirO”]Alistair Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn while on Accra-based Montie FM last week threatened to kill some Supreme Court and High Court judges if they ruled against the Electoral Commission in the Abu Ramadan case.<\/p>\n Their comments have been widely condemned. The Ghana Bar Association had earlier called for for the arrest and prosecution of the two.<\/p>\n The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) which is investigating the matter announced that the two were harmless saying they cannot carry through to their threats because they made them \u201cin a show of bravado.\u201d<\/p>\n But Franklin Cudjoe lambasted the BNI for announcement saying its\u201ca mockery of the entire process.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIn Rwanda those guys who made the comments were not even involved in the killing. People who took the advice from such irresponsible and despicable commentary, actually went ahead and killed the cockroaches and we sit here and we are suggesting that some people have the ability to determine the guys cannot carry this out when we\u2019ve had incidents of judges being killed in this same town. In fact the BNI should have kept the comments to themselves if indeed they were conducting investigations and they hadn\u2019t finished because it makes a mockery of the entire process,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Supreme Court cites Montie owners, panelists for contempt\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has cited owners of Accra-based Montie FM and the two panelists for allegedly threatening the lives of judges, for contempt.<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n According to the judges, they have issued a warrant for them to appear before them to answer for contempt charges.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
