{"id":229412,"date":"2016-07-09T13:35:34","date_gmt":"2016-07-09T13:35:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=229412"},"modified":"2016-07-09T13:35:34","modified_gmt":"2016-07-09T13:35:34","slug":"three-bailed-after-arrest-for-illegal-weapons-possession-in-ba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=229412","title":{"rendered":"Three bailed after arrest for illegal weapons possession in B\/A"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three men, who were arrested by the police for possession of suspected unregistered weapons and ammunition in Potor near Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo region, have been granted bail.<\/p>\n<p>The three were <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/07\/04\/3-arrested-in-ba-with-ak-47-ammunition-and-shotguns\/\"><strong>arrested a week ago<\/strong><\/a><\/span> \u00a0after a police retrieved 200 pieces of AK 47 ammunition, two AK47 rifles following a raid at their homes.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;S0fGcmQzD1tFrxwwoLtJimfkXxmrx1ON&#8221;]They were charged\u00a0with unlawful possession of arms.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects, Kande Bawa, 48, Samed Rauf, 18, and Sumalia Gyaboni 50, appeared before a magistrate court in Sunyani on Friday where they were given bail of GH\u00a219,000 each.<\/p>\n<p>The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Christopher Tawiah, told <strong>Citi News<\/strong> that the suspects will be released once they meet the conditions of their bail.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose people who were charged for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition were taken to court and the court bailed them today but they have to satisfy some conditions first. Somebody will have to stand surerity for them and the sum of GH\u00a219,000 paid for each of them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they are able to justify and fulfill it, the police will allow them their freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the weapons that had been seized in the raid were in police custody and would no longer pose any danger to the public<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose items have been seized by the police and they are in our custody.
