{"id":228678,"date":"2016-07-07T10:32:50","date_gmt":"2016-07-07T10:32:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=228678"},"modified":"2016-07-07T10:32:50","modified_gmt":"2016-07-07T10:32:50","slug":"release-report-on-riots-in-st-pauls-shs-managment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=228678","title":{"rendered":"Release report on riots in St Paul&#8217;s SHS &#8211; Managment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Management of St Paul\u2019s Senior High School in Denu have expressed worry over government\u2019s delay in issuing a white paper on the findings of the <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2015\/02\/11\/committee-set-to-investigate-st-paul-shs-shooting-incident\/\"><strong>committee<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u00a0that investigate the rioting in the school.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2015, students of the St Paul\u2019s Senior High School staged a protest against the school authorities for stopping \u00a0them from lynching two suspected gay students.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;b0t14rKaPtc0MqhoaDB0Y5GyrDV6RGPB&#8221;]The protest degenerated into chaos which claimed the life of one student and left several others severely injured after local Police intervened.<\/p>\n<p>The issue forced authorities to shut down the school.<\/p>\n<p>The Municipal Security Council later formed a seven-member committee to investigate the circumstances that led to the riots.<\/p>\n<p>But in an interview with <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Board Chairman of the school, David Nutakor, says although the committee has submitted its report, government is yet to state its position on the Committee\u2019s findings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were mandated, I was part of the committee, we finished our work on the 25th April. As we speaking they have not brought the white paper. And by law with no white paper, even we who worked on the report cannot let out the content of the report. We have been waiting for that and I said it\u2019s stifling the administration of the school; somebody\u2019s life was lost, we were expecting some compensation, masters\u2019 properties, cars were destroyed.
