{"id":227221,"date":"2016-07-01T15:33:09","date_gmt":"2016-07-01T15:33:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=227221"},"modified":"2016-07-01T15:33:09","modified_gmt":"2016-07-01T15:33:09","slug":"2-suspects-arrested-for-burning-ndc-office","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=227221","title":{"rendered":"2 suspects arrested for burning NDC office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Police have arrested two persons believed to have <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/06\/26\/police-chase-youth-who-burnt-ndc-office-in-upper-west\/\"><strong>torched<\/strong><\/a><\/span> the National Democratic Congress (NDC) office in the Wa Constituency in the Upper West Region.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects have also been accused of leading some youth to destroy a vehicle belonging to the party\u2019s constituency chairman.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;vrPpkGzzrMiugjALbuZbMKkIBdm9TEVz&#8221;]The suspects were allegedly protesting the President\u2019s nomination of one Basiera Sankara as the District Chief Executive for the Wa West district.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the deputy Upper West Regional Police Commander, ACP Dr. Shaibu Gariba, confirmed that the \u201cUpper West regional command made the arrest of some people that were alleged to have masterminded the attack. Two people were arrested and detained.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also revealed that the police Command has also \u201crequested the NDC constituency chairman for Wa West and the opinion leaders to actually produce those who are alleged to have contributed\u201d to the attack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOnce we finish investigations, we will process them for court,\u201d Dr. Gariba added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We won&#8217;t treat case as party matter<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Police had earlier warned that they will not leave any stone un-turned in their <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/06\/28\/burning-of-ndc-office-wont-be-treated-as-party-matter-police\/\"><strong>investigations<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>ACP Gariba assured\u00a0that the police will not be \u201cinfluenced or undermined by any political party. As you know, we have always declared our position that crime has no political color.
