Ernest Bruce Memorial Methodist Church\u00a0at Adabraka in Accra.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-219427\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_5038.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5038\" width=\"600\" height=\"339\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The memorial service was part of the activities to mark the first anniversary of the tragedy that claimed over 150 lives and left many more scarred physically and emotionally.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-219426\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_5033.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5033\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Families of the deceased persons and survivors of the disaster were at the service to remember the dead.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-219436\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_5026.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5026\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>President John Mahama, the Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive, Alfred\u00a0Oko Vanderpuye, and some ministers of state together with other\u00a0dignitaries, also converged at the church for the first anniversary of the disaster.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-219435\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_5018.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_5018\" width=\"600\" height=\"393\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wreaths laid at disaster site<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Roads leading past epicenter of the disaster, the GOIL fuel station near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, were blocked leaving the area free of vehicular traffic.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-219429\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_3541.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3541\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-219428\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_3536.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3536\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This allowed people to gather in front of the disaster site where wreaths were laid in remembrance of the dead.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-219431\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_3574.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3574\" width=\"600\" height=\"409\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Wreaths were laid by\u00a0the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Parliament and the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Delali Adogla-Bessa\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A memorial service in honour of victims of the June 3 flood and fire disaster was today [Friday] held at the Rev.
