{"id":215034,"date":"2016-05-17T18:25:49","date_gmt":"2016-05-17T18:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=215034"},"modified":"2016-05-17T18:25:49","modified_gmt":"2016-05-17T18:25:49","slug":"police-foil-robbery-at-first-atlantic-bank-robber-shot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=215034","title":{"rendered":"Police foil robbery at First Atlantic Bank; robber shot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police on Tuesday evening foiled a robbery attack at the Ridge branch of the First Atlantic Bank in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>According to a\u00a0customer at\u00a0the Bank who spoke to <strong>Citifmonline.com<\/strong>, the incident occurred around 4:30pm when a customer who had cashed bulk money in a bag\u00a0and was about moving on a motorbike, was suddenly accosted by the robbers who started firing warning shots.<\/p>\n<p>The customer, who was the pillion rider, was reportedly shot by one of\u00a0the\u00a0robbers several times in the leg after he refused to hand over the money to them.<\/p>\n<p>According to the source, the customer eventually handed over the money to the robbers, but just when they were about to flee the scene with the money on another motorbike, police arrived at the scene and shot one of them in the leg.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-215036 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/robbery-at-first-atlantic-bank-2.jpg\" alt=\"robbery at first atlantic bank (2)\" width=\"622\" height=\"398\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The injured robber was thus arrested, while the other managed to escape.
