{"id":210536,"date":"2016-04-30T12:41:04","date_gmt":"2016-04-30T12:41:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=210536"},"modified":"2016-04-30T12:41:04","modified_gmt":"2016-04-30T12:41:04","slug":"mahama-cuts-sod-eni-project-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=210536","title":{"rendered":"Mahama cuts sod for ENI project [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President Mahama has cut sod for the commencement of the onshore Gas Receiving facility at Sazule in the Ellembelle district in the Western Region.<\/p>\n<p>The offshore Cape Three Points integrated oil and gas project will produce dry gas of 180 million standard cubic feet per day for a period of not less than 20 years.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-210545 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/mahama-cuts-sod-for-ENI-project-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"mahama cuts sod for ENI project (1)\" width=\"633\" height=\"356\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The gas receiving facility will also be tied-in to the Ghana Gas pipeline to deliver gas to Aboadze and the Tema enclave.<\/p>\n<p>The project is expected to produce its first gas in the first quarter of 2018 and estimated that the facility will generate 1000 megawatts of electricity per day.<\/p>\n<p>ENI Ghana Exploration and Production Ltd is the operator of the offshore Cape Three Points integrated Oil and Gas Project with Vitol Upstream Ghana Limited and Ghana National Petroleum Corporation as partners.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-210543 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/mahama-cuts-sod-for-ENI-project-9.jpg\" alt=\"mahama cuts sod for ENI project (9)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>President Mahama while speaking at a ceremony to commence the gas project in the Western Region today said the it will help the country to get a &#8220;solid energy platform.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This truly is a transformational project, this truly will have a positive impact on our economy. This is a project that will transform the Western Region in the country. This is a project that will change the lives of Ghanaians.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-210542 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/mahama-cuts-sod-for-ENI-project-7.jpg\" alt=\"mahama cuts sod for ENI project (7)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The start of work on the project is also the beginning of my vision to make Ghana a petroleum hub with the creation of a petrol-chemical industry in the Western Region of Ghana. My vision is already becoming a reality. We have built our petroleum strategic stock to the highest level required. We are required to keep at least six weeks of supply of petroleum products. As I speak currently we have more than eight and half weeks of supply in our strategic reserves,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-210540 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/mahama-cuts-sod-for-ENI-project-4.jpg\" alt=\"mahama cuts sod for ENI project (4)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/p>\n<p>President Mahama also revealed that &#8220;currently we are exporting petroleum products to Burkina Faso and Mali.
