Ghanaians workers have been advised not to vote on tribal lines in the upcoming general elections on November 7, 2016.<\/p>\n
The call was made by the\u00a0General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, Solomon Kotei who urged Ghanaians, especially members of the union to instead vote for a political party that best represents their best interests.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”NtljpwnPD0C1GFAIhJSX1xQY1tITs0iC”]Speaking in an interview with Citi News<\/strong> on the sidelines of an industrial workshop ahead of the May Day celebrations in Tema, Mr Kotei noted that Ghana will see no progress if people continue to vote on tribal lines.<\/p>\n \u201cIf we look at November 2016, it\u2019s like its either we are going to have a retention or we are going to have a change of government. Either way that it goes, Ghana should still be one or we must still move this nation forward. Each development of progress should be the concern of all Ghanaians.\u201d<\/p>\n He said Ghanaians must vote on based on issues.<\/p>\n “If I say issues I mean, what are the economic indicators, what are the things that make an economy to grow; these are the things that should inform those who throw in their vote to whoever. If we continue to remain party partisan people we want to remain tribal people to remain tribal people to give our vote on tribal lines we will do a lot of harm to this country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
