{"id":208665,"date":"2016-04-22T11:46:14","date_gmt":"2016-04-22T11:46:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=208665"},"modified":"2016-04-22T11:46:14","modified_gmt":"2016-04-22T11:46:14","slug":"price-of-cassava-shoots-up-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=208665","title":{"rendered":"Price of cassava shoots up again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The price of cassava has shot up again after it went up <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/2016\/04\/15\/price-of-cassava-shoots-up-by-10\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>by 10% last week<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>This time round, it went up by 5% and its being sold in the market at GHc 7.40 per \u201c3-4 tubers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tomatoes made the highest gain in the third week of April with 8% and its going for GHc8.20 per \u201cmedium size tomato tin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;3sgLgO6SZBXQzBpjaFIDoslTYhxQkiWD&#8221;]Millet also followed with 2 percent gain and closed the week at GHc5.50 for an \u201colonka.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Groundnut also increased by a percentage to close the week at GHc13.90 per \u201colonka.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Checks by Esoko Ghana also established that Yam (pona) and Soyabean dropped by 2 percent each.<\/p>\n<p>Both closed the week at GHc 6.00 and 6.30 per \u201cmedium size tuber\u201d and \u201colonka\u201d respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Cowpea however dropped by a percentage to close the week at GHc 8.50 per \u201colonka.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Esoko Ghana, the price for an \u201colonka\u201d of maize on the various markets remained the same.<\/p>\n<p>A \u201cmedium size tomato tin\u201d full of fresh tomatoes gained 28 percent in Accra to close the week at GHc10.20 with Tamale also gaining 11 percent to close at GHc 6.00 and also with Kumasi and Takoradi gaining 9 and 3 percent to close the week at GHc 8.50 and 15.50 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In the other markets, the price remained the same.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Click below for details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-208667 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/citifmonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/esoko-april-22.png\" alt=\"esoko april 22\" width=\"927\" height=\"490\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Credit: Esoko Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The price of cassava has shot up again after it went up by 10% last week.
