{"id":207664,"date":"2016-04-18T17:46:50","date_gmt":"2016-04-18T17:46:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=207664"},"modified":"2016-04-18T17:46:50","modified_gmt":"2016-04-18T17:46:50","slug":"govt-to-meet-jussag-this-week-over-salary-concerns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=207664","title":{"rendered":"Gov\u2019t to meet JUSSAG this week over salary concerns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Government is expected to have a final meeting with the \u00a0leadership of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSSAG) over\u00a0their salary concerns.<\/p>\n<p>JUSSAG embarked on an industrial action last month, citing government\u2019s failure to implement a new salary structure approved by the Judicial Council months ago.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;LeDDhjQawKKQcAXZfOJ527vm1OTvMOie&#8221;]Labour Minister, Haruna Iddrisu, intervened and promised resolving the issues.<\/p>\n<p>Following the assurance, JUSSAG called off an intended\u00a0strike and resumed discussions with government.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, President of the Association, Alex Nartey, said the negotiation with government is going well so far.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGovernment came in to request us to meet them, the meeting has commenced. We met on the 8<sup>th<\/sup> of April and at the meeting government requested for one week to do some crosschecks with some of the information we provided. So we are looking forward for a meeting this week to conclude the discussions. Our ultimate expectation is that, we will get to a point where government sees reason in the point we have made over the period and implement same for us, so that\u2019s what we are looking for,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No need remaining on strike<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>JUSSAG had earlier said there was no point remaining on strike following\u00a0government\u2019s\u00a0assurances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing our meeting with the Labour Minister and the commitment government has shown to us and the fact that the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana is not just interested in strikes, we have called off the industrial action and we are restoring our rank and file to post on Monday,\u201d Mr. Nartey added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: Godwin A.
