It has emerged that the Electoral Commission (EC), is already\u00a0using its new logo despite a claim by a Deputy Chairman of the Commission that the logo, which has generated \u00a0public discussion is yet to be approved.<\/p>\n

Deputy EC Chairman, Amadu Sulley<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, told journalists at a capacity building workshop over the weekend, that the EC was yet to decide on whether or not the new logo would be approved for use.<\/p>\n

But it appears the claim by the Deputy Chairman contradicts the reality on the ground, as evidence sighted by citifmonline.com<\/strong> suggests that the logo is already being used for official purposes.<\/p>\n

Posters and brochures sighted by citifmonline.com<\/strong> had the new logo embossed on them.<\/p>\n

Controversy over new logo<\/strong><\/p>\n

A new logo, which appeared in place of EC\u2019s original logo, had generated a lot of debate amongst the public with some suggesting that the Commission must not change the original one.<\/p>\n

While others have criticized the logo as not being original, others say it is of poor quality and does not communicate the functions of the commission.<\/p>\n

Some critics have also said the timing of the new logo is improper.<\/p>\n
