He returned in 2012 to win the seat.<\/p>\n<p>He left behind\u00a0a wife and two children. Joseph Boakye Danquah, a chartered Accountant by profession, is the grandson of late J.B Danquah, a Ghanaian statesman, pan-Africanist, scholar and historian, who played a significant role in pre- and post-colonial Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I went to steal, not to kill<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The suspect had earlier\u00a0told investigators that he went in the MP\u2019s house\u00a0<span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2016\/02\/16\/i-went-to-steal-not-to-kill-jb-danquahs-killer\/\" target=\"_blank\">to steal<\/a><\/strong> <\/span>but ended up\u00a0killing him in self-defense.<\/p>\n<p>According to the charge sheet, the suspect, Daniel Asiedu, 19, said \u201che went there to steal but in the process, the deceased woke up and held him.<\/p>\n<p>He said in a struggle with the deceased, he pulled out his knife and stabbed him several times before he became weak and fell down.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About J.B Danquah <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The late Joseph Boakye Danquah, once served as a Deputy Minister for Women and Children\u2019s Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>He was the Abuakwa North MP from 2000 until 2008, when he lost the seat to the NPP\u2019s Prof. Samuel Amoako.
