The Ghana Police Service has urged Ghanaians to remain calm in the wake of a prophecy by the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B Joshua, predicting a possible terrorist attack on Ghana.<\/p>\n
The renowned prophet asked his congregation to pray for Ghana and Nigeria in a bid forestall evil plans by the enemy. The prophecy was delivered on his Emmanuel TV channel during live Sunday service.<\/p>\n

Anything can just happen. You will be very shocked to see what will happen, because when the prayer is going in this direction they [attackers] change to [another] direction,\u201d he said during a live sermon on Sunday April 10 aired on the Emmanuel TV channel.<\/p>\n
\u201cI see Thursday, Friday. Pray for these two nations \u2013 Nigeria and Ghana \u2013 over gathering in any way; over attack. I am seeing attack and that will be in a foreign way. The attack will come not in a local way. So please open your lips and pray for these two nations for protection,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
But the Police Service has \u00a0in\u00a0a statement issued on Monday, assured the public that \u201csecurity agencies have jointly put adequate measures in place to forestall any terrorist attacks or disturbances.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAll the requisite operational strategies, including intelligence gathering and tactical deployment of personnel have been unfolded to nib any breach of the peace in the bud.In view of this, the Police is seeking the co-operation of the general public in the fight against the scourge of terrorism and other violent crimes. The public is, therefore, implored to bear with the Police any inconveniences efforts to deal with the situation may cause,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n
The statement\u00a0further entreated Ghanaians to be vigilant and report any \u201csuspicious parcels or items\u201d left at public places and other vantage points,as well as \u201cquestionable characters\u201d to the Police for necessary actions to be taken.<\/p>\n
Terrorists targeting West Africa, Ghana at risk<\/strong><\/p>\n TB Joshua\u2019s prophesy comes on the back of terror alert issued by the National Security Council which said countries within the West African sub-region are at risk.<\/p>\n The Council said based on intelligence from other agencies, it has every reason to believe that countries including Ghana is at risk.<\/p>\n \u201cThe National Security Council on the basis of briefings by the intelligence agencies and partners, has determined that there is a credible terrorists threat to all countries in the sub-region.\u201d<\/p>\n Already there have been attacks in Mali, Cote D\u2019Ivoire and Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Marian Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana
