{"id":204969,"date":"2016-04-07T08:53:47","date_gmt":"2016-04-07T08:53:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=204969"},"modified":"2016-04-07T08:53:47","modified_gmt":"2016-04-07T08:53:47","slug":"puma-energy-commences-operations-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=204969","title":{"rendered":"Puma Energy commences operations in Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Puma Energy, a global mid and downstream energy company operating in 47 countries across five continents, has officially commenced operations in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The company also operates in partnership with Blue Ocean Investments in the storage business and UBI Petroleum.<\/p>\n<p>A press statement copied to Citi Business News explained that Puma Energy Distribution Ghana, will mainly work on the retail side to deliver quality and affordable fuel to Ghanaians.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Operating Officer for Puma Energy Africa Christophe Zyde, explained that \u00a0the company will\u00a0 link local demand with international supply, through investment in infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Ghana we have built partnerships with local players \u2013 Blue Ocean Investments and UBI Petroleum \u2013 in order to increase the fuel storage capacity of Ghana and to bring efficiencies and enhance economic growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Puma Energy has been supporting Ghana\u2019s fuel industry for close to 10 years through the construction and operation of the CBM import system.<\/p>\n<p>The system has been consistently available and is used to import all crude and most fuel products into Ghana. More recently, Puma Energy, through Blue Ocean Investments, has built three new storage terminals at Kotoka International Airport (KIA), Tema Ridge and Takoradi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe increased capacity and security of supply provided by our investments into aviation storage at KIA and Tema Ridge means that Ghana can optimise its positioning as a hub for aviation in West Africa,\u201d, General Manager for Puma Energy in Ghana, \u00a0Myles Bouvier-Baird he stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe same goes for our investments into clean fuel storage at our Takoradi Terminal, which will be the first depot to store gasoline in Ghana\u2019s Western Region,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the company has a reputation for achieving significant economies of scale and operating efficiently, which translates into competitive costing, managed risk, secured supply and seamless delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Already, , Puma Energy, through Blue Ocean Investments, has added a storage capacity of 10,000m\u00b3 to the existing 750m\u00b3 depot at the KIA aviation fuel depot.<\/p>\n<p>This increased security of supply at the airport has positioned Accra\u2019s KIA as a contender for major airlines using it as a hub for the West Africa sub-region.<\/p>\n<p>The increased air traffic is expected to add a significant boost to the country\u2019s potential for trade and economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>With the Tema Ridge depot, the further 15,000m\u00b3 of storage of aviation fuel is expected to \u00a0improve efficiency, reinforce security of supply and aid in improved planning for the entire market.<\/p>\n<p>The new Takoradi Terminal is also set to support the Ghanaian government\u2019s policy to improve regional fuel supply with the new gas oil terminal to reduce thousands of truck delivery to the Tema.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>By: citibusinessnews.com\/Ghana\/<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Puma Energy, a global mid and downstream energy company operating in 47 countries across five continents, has officially commenced operations in Ghana.
