The New Patriotic Party (NPP), says it is aiming at winning at least twenty parliamentary seats in the Greater Accra Region to propel it to win the November polls.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, the Chairman of the NPP in the Greater Accra Region, Ishmael Ashietey, said the party hopes to win more votes for its presidential candidate.<\/p>\n \u201cIn 2012, we predicted winning 18 parliamentary seats and then 65% of the presidential votes. When Nana Addo went to court, we also took four constituencies to court that we believe the elections were stolen at those constituencies. We won 14 constituencies without those four.\u201d<\/p>\n He said when the NPP lost the election petition case at the Supreme Court, \u201cwe decided to withdraw our case from the court.\u00a0This time, we intend to win a minimum of 20 parliamentary seats and then 60% votes for the presidential slot,\u201d Ishmael Ashietey added.<\/p>\n NPP targets nine seats in Upper East<\/strong><\/p>\n The NPP says it is also targeting nine seats in the Upper East Region in 2016. Out of 15 Parliamentary seats, the NPP can only boast of two seats in the region.<\/p>\n In 2012, the NPP succeeded in unseating two top NDC MPs, namely\u00a0Moses Asaga and John Akologo Tia.<\/p>\n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
