Ghana\u2019s High Commission in Namibia this week celebrated with Ghana\u2019s Black Starlets after their overwhelming victory in the four-nation U-17 football tournament that pitted them against Germany, Namibia and South Africa. The matches took place in the port city of Walvis Bay.<\/p>\n
The Black Starlets thus became two-time champions with their win following the first win in 2014.<\/p>\n
The team defeated the German Team 2-1 in the final match played on Sunday, 27th March, 2016.<\/p>\n
The New Era newspaper, a leading Namibian daily, described the Starlets as \u201cAmazing\u201d.<\/p>\n
In addition to the main trophy, striker David Cudjoe won the Top Scorer award and team mate Emmanuel Toku won Player of the Tournament Award.<\/p>\n
Ghana\u2019s High Commissioner to Namibia, Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah, hosted the victorious team and their handlers to a typical Ghanaian victory lunch of omo tuo and jollof rice.<\/p>\n
He was supported by Ms. Anita Kiki Gbeho, Ghanaian-born UN Resident Representative in Namibia.<\/p>\n
