Government has described as a prank claims by some members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), that government planned to raid the Nima residence of the party\u2019s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n
Hundreds of NPP supporters including members of the party’s security outfit, the Invisible Forces, on Friday gathered in front of Nana Addo\u2019s residence to protect it<\/a><\/strong><\/span> against any raid.<\/p>\n [contextly_sidebar id=”esigu63vu03JsZb1ZrDCCklqtCHQh1mS”]The die-hard supporters say they have picked up reports\u00a0indicating that the Police and the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), had planned to raid his house.<\/p>\n But a statement from the Minister of Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, said such claims should be ignored.<\/p>\n He said it was a calculated attempt by some individuals to create artificial tension in the country.<\/p>\n “I have contacted the BNI about a so called intended raid of the Nima offices of Mr Akufo Addo. BNI categorically denies any such intentions and urges the general public to ignore the pranks being played by some individuals to generate artificial tension in the country,” Dr. Omane added.<\/p>\n
