An employee of the Peterpan Restaurant in Accra, who was slapped with a piece of hot pizza, by her Korean employer, has written to the Police to withdraw the case.<\/p>\n
Cecilia Ampadu, who was a supervisor at the restaurant, filed a complaint at the Airport Police Station claiming her Korean boss, Young Gyu Lee, assaulted her while on duty for a \u00a0burnt pizza \u00a0baked by another employee.<\/p>\n
The Police subsequently arrested Mr. Lee and charged him with assault.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”BtyTDUGEcruJT2ZLmfAhGcukoZFjmsyp”]But the Airport Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Yaw Tetegah, told Citi News <\/strong>his outfit has closed the case after the complainant\u2019s request.<\/p>\n He said they received a letter from Cecilia Ampadu\u00a0last week, explaining that \u201cshe is no more interested in the case and that they have resolved their differences with the man who assaulted her.\u201d<\/p>\n Superintendent Tetegah noted that although the Police would want to pursue the case to its logical conclusion, their only problem is that \u201cthe one who reported the case to them, is not ready to support the Police with the evidence that she has.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve written our statement but at the court, questions will be asked about the person who reported the case to the Police and she is not ready to support us with the evidence,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n It is unclear what may have accounted for the sudden withdrawal of the case.<\/p>\n But Superintendent Tetegah explained that the lady may have taken the decision because she does not want to lose her current job, considering the unemployment rate in the country.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026So maybe she is interested in still working there; so we considered the situation and decided that once she has indicated to the Police that she is no longer interested, we will withdraw the case,\u201d the Police Superintendent added.<\/p>\n This\u00a0comes barely a week after the lady who claimed to be traumatized by the incident, told Citi News<\/strong> that she wanted justice to prevent others at the Restaurant from going through similar experiences.<\/p>\n \n –<\/p>\n By: Godwin A.
