Nicki Minaj says her eagerly-anticipated fourth studio album will be a happier record to her emotional 2014 LP \u2018The Pinkprint\u2019.<\/p>\n
The \u2018Anaconda\u2019 hitmaker admits her last LP \u2013 2014\u2019s \u2018The Pinkprint\u2019 \u2013 was written at a time when she felt \u201cemotionally unstable\u201d as her 11-year relationship with Safaree Samuels came to an end, but her fourth album will reflect the \u201chappiness\u201d she\u2019s found in her relationship with her rapper boyfriend Meek Mill.<\/p>\n
She explained: \u201cI needed time to hear myself think again because where I left off with \u2018The Pinkprint\u2019 was a little bit emotionally unstable.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wanted to take a moment to just live my life, enjoy my life, have fun, go out. I think that\u2019s very important before you start writing again. Now, I want my happiness to be reflected in the new stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 33-year-old star \u2013 who is keen to have children with Meek \u2013 is currently laying down lyrics for her next record and has teased that her fans will have a \u201cspiritual experience\u201d when they hear the new material.<\/p>\n
She told the new issue of Nylon magazine: \u201cIt\u2019s a spiritual experience for the people who are hearing the music, so I\u2019m trying to be very careful of what mental space I\u2019m in while I\u2019m creating it.\u201d<\/p>\n
As for when fans can expect the record it could be a little while yet as she\u2019s focusing on her acting career and will be busy promoting her forthcoming film \u2018Barbershop: The Next Cut\u2019, which is released on April 19.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cMusically, I feel very fulfilled, and now I can start tapping into my acting world, where it\u2019s about passion and not about the money. It\u2019s wanting to be what I set out to be when I was in high school: an actress.\u201d<\/p>\n
