{"id":199049,"date":"2016-03-15T10:35:20","date_gmt":"2016-03-15T10:35:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=199049"},"modified":"2016-03-15T10:35:20","modified_gmt":"2016-03-15T10:35:20","slug":"kpandai-shs-marks-25th-anniversary-with-speech-day-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=199049","title":{"rendered":"Kpandai SHS marks 25th anniversary with speech day [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Kpandai Senior High School in the Northern Region marked their 25th anniversary with\u00a0its first speech and prize giving day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-198844\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/School-12-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"School 12\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The anniversary was used to award deserving students and non-teaching staff who have distinguished themselves and dedicated their service to the school since its establishment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-198845\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/School-13-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"School 13\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The school was established on January 28, 1991 with 31 students, but its student population has grown remarkably since then.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-198835\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/School-4-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"School 4\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking at the speech day ceremony, the headmaster of the school, Richard Sibeko, bemoaned the lack of infrastructure development at the school despite the 25 year milestone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-198836\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/School-5-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"School 5\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI am constrained as far as structures are concerned,\u201d he stated as he explained the pressure on the school&#8217;s facilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Mr. Sibeko, some of the classrooms have been converted into dormitories because of lack of space for the students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-198832\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/School-2-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"School 2\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe building housing the girls is in a very deplorable state. Most of the facilities are over stretched. I have been forced to convert some of my dormitories to house some boys and girls.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He noted that there are some ongoing Ghana Education Trust fund (Getfund) infrastructure projects but they are moving at a \u201csnail speed\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-198831\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/School-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"School 1\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAn 8-room GETfund girl\u2019s dormitory started in 2010 but was\u00a0only roofed about a month ago and another five room dormitory is only at foundation level,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-198840\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/School-8-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"School 8\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Sibeko\u00a0is of the view that if he does not voice out his concerns, nobody will come to the school&#8217;s\u00a0aid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI am sharing this litany of challenges that I have because if I don\u2019t cry, nobody will come to my assistance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Delali Adogla-Bessa\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kpandai Senior High School in the Northern Region marked their 25th anniversary with\u00a0its first speech and prize giving day.
