{"id":198652,"date":"2016-03-14T06:20:52","date_gmt":"2016-03-14T06:20:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=198652"},"modified":"2016-03-14T06:20:52","modified_gmt":"2016-03-14T06:20:52","slug":"zoomlion-staff-participate-in-african-business-confab-in-harvard","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=198652","title":{"rendered":"Zoomlion staff participate in African business confab in Harvard"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Zoomlion Group of Companies a flagship company of the Jospong Group of Companies was one of the few wholly owned Ghanaian Business Groups to participate in the 2016 Africa Business Conference of the Harvard Business School, Boston Massachusetts this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The key objective for Zoomlion\u2019s participation was to search for skills from HBS and other college graduates in the diaspora for employment and internship opportunities with Zoomlion Ghana Limited in line with the company\u2019s 2016 Capacity Building Agenda, for its operations on the continent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was held from from February 25-28,2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking as a panelist on one of the well-attended panel discussions \u00a0on the topic \u2018Women in Africa Business\u2019 the MD of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Mrs Florence Larbi encouraged students as well as alumni of Harvard Business School (HBS) to look for opportunities in their home countries and return to transfer knowledge and expertise to help build indigenous\u00a0 African Businesses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Amongst a panel of seven strong women who had chalked various successes as CEO\u2019s and Founders of various enterprises across Africa, Madam Larbi\u00a0 blended her \u00a0discussion with her personal and professional experience as a woman, a mother and a C-Suite Executive. \u00a0This attracted a lot of interest from mostly female HBS students and other participants in the area of mentorship and advice on their career choices and Work &#8211; life balance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mokhles Bustami, Group Chief Strategy Officer also joined a five member panel for a discussion on the topic \u2013 \u2018Estate Development in Africa.\u2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also another very successful session Mokhles looked at the topic globally seating it in the context of Africa and drawing from the Jospong Groups perspective through SINO Africa\u2019s strategy and the need to consider environment and waste issues at the planning stages of Estate Development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Zoomlion Ghana Limited also participated in a career fair organised alongside this year\u2019s event. Over 30 companies from Ghana, West Africa, Africa and parts of the Diaspora participated in the career fair. Barbara Mensah, Group Corporate Affairs and Marketing Manager of the Jospong Group professionally managed the career fair desk at the conference.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over 600 students looking for job placements and internship opportunities in businesses in Africa attended.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Zoomlion Ghana Limited is a giant in the waste management as well as environmental sanitation business in Ghana and Africa as a whole. The company was formed under the company\u2019s Act in January 2006. The company which started with a few numbers of staff has grown over the past ten years and now has a total core staff of 3,000 and manages over 85,000 workers under various forms of Public Private Partnerships (PPP).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Zoomlion has operations in other African countries namely; Togo, Angola, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea and Liberia. The company is also prospecting for business in other African countries such as Nigeria, Guinea Conakry, Sierra Leone and La Cote d\u2019ivoire.
