{"id":197974,"date":"2016-03-10T19:22:49","date_gmt":"2016-03-10T19:22:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=197974"},"modified":"2016-03-10T19:22:49","modified_gmt":"2016-03-10T19:22:49","slug":"apartments-flames-spintex-photos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=197974","title":{"rendered":"Apartments in flames at Spintex [Photos]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fire has gutted a shop and some apartments on the Spintex Road around the Kotobabi traffic light in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>The fire, which started this [Thursday] evening around 6:30pm, has so far destroyed several possessions running into thousands of cedis.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-197984 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Fire-8-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Fire 8\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-197982 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Fire-6-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Fire 6\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p>An eyewitness, Kwabena Nyarko, who spoke to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, said the fire started at a furniture shop, Kingdom Furniture Warehouse, situated close to the apartment, which has about 30 flats.<\/p>\n<p>But the fire for now, has extended to one apartment as fire fighters attempt to douse it and stop a possible spread to other flats.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-197979 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Fire-2-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Fire 2\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-197980 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Fire-4-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Fire 4\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Fire service personnel arrived about 40 minutes after the fire had started.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was in the office when I saw the smoke coming out from a furniture shop. It burnt for about 40 minutes and extended to the Community Apartments &#8216;2&#8217; just behind the furniture shop.
