The National Democratic Congress\u00a0(NDC) has\u00a0debunked reports suggesting that the\u00a0party’s Chairman for the Nhyiaeso Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Ernest Afayam, is dead.<\/p>\n
Some media\u00a0reports said\u00a0the NDC Chairman had been robbed and beaten to death by unknown assailants.<\/p>\n
But the Nhyiaeso Constituency Organizer, Angel Yirenkyi, explained to Citi News<\/strong> that\u00a0the incident\u00a0was\u00a0in reference the\u00a0NDC\u2019s Trade Union Congress (TUC) Ward Chairman in the Nhyiaeso Constituency,\u00a046 year-old\u00a0Alfa Kwadwo Fiato, who was killed by the assailants.<\/p>\n Mr. Fiato was\u00a0returning from the Brong Ahafo Region to Kumasi on Sunday, March 6, when the incident occurred.<\/p>\n According to reports, the deceased, who realized the road had been blocked got down to find out why the road had been blocked, only for him to be attacked by some heavily armed men, who were hiding\u00a0in the surrounding bush.<\/p>\n The armed men battered\u00a0him a severely after robbing him of his, car, money and other belongings.
