{"id":192313,"date":"2016-02-22T13:53:28","date_gmt":"2016-02-22T13:53:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=192313"},"modified":"2016-02-22T13:53:28","modified_gmt":"2016-02-22T13:53:28","slug":"niger-election-hundreds-of-citizens-vote-in-ghana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=192313","title":{"rendered":"Niger election: Hundreds of citizens vote in Ghana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hundreds of Nigeriens in Ghana took part in the country&#8217;s polls held over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Nigeriens living in Ghana voted to elect a president for the country and legislators to represent them in the Assembly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They voted at eighty polling stations in Ghana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Representation of the People Amendment Act, was enacted in 2007 to allow Ghanaians living abroad to vote in Ghana&#8217;s General elections but the law has since not been implemented.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-192327 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/niger-citizens-voting-in-ghana-1.jpg\" alt=\"niger citizens voting in ghana (1)\" width=\"768\" height=\"466\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking <strong>to Citi News<\/strong> the Nigerien Ambassador to Ghana Danana Isha, said Ghana will be on the right path should it decide to allow its citizens in the Diaspora to vote.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Ambassador Isha, they allowed their citizens in the diaspora to vote because \u201cthey will be represented at the Assembly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-192329 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/niger-citizens-voting-in-ghana-2-1024x668.jpg\" alt=\"niger citizens voting in ghana (2)\" width=\"620\" height=\"404\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cI think it is a good thing for Ghana to allow its citizens in the diaspora to vote,\u201d the Nigerien Ambassador said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Godwin A.
