{"id":189003,"date":"2016-02-11T15:59:40","date_gmt":"2016-02-11T15:59:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=189003"},"modified":"2016-02-11T15:59:40","modified_gmt":"2016-02-11T15:59:40","slug":"afriwave-contract-there-was-no-fraud-nca-replies-imani","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=189003","title":{"rendered":"Afriwave contract: There was no fraud &#8211; NCA replies IMANI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Communications Authority (NCA) has denied claims they fraudulently awarded the license for the establishment of an Interconnect Clearing House (ICH) to Afriwave Telecom Ghana Limited.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Authority had established an independent Application Evaluation Process (AEP) for the selection of a clearing house\u00a0to carry out the job.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;tQLbP24oDJcCjmQfrkfF35S9KUhbC00R&#8221;]Afriwave was subsequently selected ahead of four other companies which bid for the contract, but policy think tank, IMANI Ghana, raised red flag over Afriwave\u2019s selection, describing it as fraudulent, farcical and an imposition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Although the NCA had released a <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2016\/02\/10\/nca-fights-imani-over-controversial-afriwave-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\">statement<\/a><\/strong><\/span> earlier to explain the processes used in awarding the contract, it held a a\u00a0new\u00a0conference today [Thursday] to clarify the issues again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Director General of the NCA, William Tevie said the process was fair and transparent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Mr. Tevie, the NCA is fully convinced that there was no fraud or rigging in the selection <a style=\"text-decoration:none; color: #333;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.honeytraveler.com\/buy-celebrex\/\">buy celebrex<\/a> process for the ICH license and any attempt to prove otherwise is misleading.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe NCA wishes to clearly state that the assertion raised in the public domain is regrettable and unfortunately misleading&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Tevie however noted, that the AEP noticed\u00a0some discrepancies in the scores awarded to the competing firms but moved to correct them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe AEP in preparation of the report transferred the scores from Excel to Microsoft word.
