A three-year old Fulani girl died on\u00a0Saturday in a fire\u00a0at Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo region.<\/p>\n
The girl was burnt while sleeping in her mother’s make-shift tent on\u00a0the outskirts of the town that afternoon.<\/p>\n
According to residents, some unknown individuals set ablaze the tent in which she was sleeping together with ten others in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n
The little girl’s charred body was found after the fire service had come in to quench the blaze.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”K2p253C5KO7W4zxnQ16XxhIBXHucucgh”]The Atebubu District Police Commander, Superintendent Joseph Astu Ahinakwa, confirmed the incident to Citi News<\/strong> but did not give a clear indication as to whether the police suspected foul play.<\/p>\n According to him, the fire may have been that which spread from the fires set by the\u00a0Fulanis near their tent whiles they were cooking<\/p>\n However, a local Fulani Chief in the Atebubu District, Musah Munkaila, suspects foul play and has alleged that some town-folks are behind the incident.<\/p>\n He suspects some arsonist took advantage of the absence of the Fulani who had gone to the mosque for prayers to set fire to the tents.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Arsonist took advantage of the Friday prayers\u2026when you look at how the structures were burnt, you can tell it was a planned thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
