{"id":18754,"date":"2014-05-15T11:50:45","date_gmt":"2014-05-15T11:50:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=18754"},"modified":"2014-05-15T11:50:45","modified_gmt":"2014-05-15T11:50:45","slug":"miracle-us-baby-survives-11-storey-fall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=18754","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Miracle&#8217; US baby survives 11-storey fall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A baby in the US state of Minnesota has survived an 11-storey fall from an apartment balcony, local media report.<\/p>\n<p>Musa Dayib, one, has two arm fractures and is breathing with the help of a ventilator but is expected to live, after slipping through a railing.<\/p>\n<p>His doctor said his youth as well as the softer ground he landed on helped contribute to his survival.<\/p>\n<p>Family and friends in Minneapolis&#8217;s Somali community say the family is in shock.<\/p>\n<p id=\"story_continues_1\">&#8220;When people found out he survived, no one could believe it,&#8221; community activist Abdirizak Bihi\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/local\/minneapolis\/258926241.html\">told the Star-Tribune newspaper<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m more concerned about his dad and his mother,&#8221; Mr Bihi said. &#8220;They&#8217;re devastated. They can&#8217;t even speak.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Dr Tina Slusher, who treated Musa, said an adult who fell from that distance would almost certainly be dead.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Little [children] are more flexible and don&#8217;t break as easily as we do and he also fell in a very small patch of mulch [loose material put on soil],&#8221; she told\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation-now\/2014\/05\/14\/baby-survives-balcony-fall\/9073983\/\">local broadcaster KARE<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But she added it was &#8220;definitely a miracle. It&#8217;s God&#8217;s gift to his family.
