The 2016 Presidential Candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has bemoaned the culture of intolerance in Ghana\u2019s politics.<\/p>\n
\u00a0According to him, it is such “dirty politics” that has denied Dr. J.B Danquah his rightful place in the political history of the country even though he contributed significantly to the nation\u2019s quest for independence.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”Q70ctJ5PPSfDa0AlXufindZcj3EQsqnn”]Nana Akufo Addo made these comments at the launch of a book on the life of Dr. J.B Danquah titled \u201cThings every child should know about Dr. J.B Danquah.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said \u201cone would have thought therefore that the details of his life and achievements would be widely available and well known.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, the intolerance streak in our politics that took hold in the early years of our nationhood, led to a deliberate attempt to write out the significant role played by J.B Danquah and others in the formation of Ghana, that J.B Danquah did the research and came up with the idea of calling our country Ghana should never have been a contested or surprising fact.\u201d<\/p>\n
The 72-pages long book authored by\u00a0 Abyna-Ansaa Adjei\u00a0tells the story of Dr. Danquah\u2019s life from his childhood, his years of academic excellence as a student as well as his\u00a0political career.<\/p>\n
It also details the contributions J.B Danquah made to virtually all areas of national life.<\/p>\n
