<\/b>Authorities at the University of Ghana have denied reports that some students of the University may not graduate this year following the introduction of a new grading system. <\/span><\/p>\n Under the new system, a student can only be graded \u201cA\u201d if he obtains an 80% score in an examination whilst under the old system a 70% score was equivalent to Grade \u2018A\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>According to the students, the University\u2019s attempt to migrate them onto the new grading system will mean, either students will have to \u00a0<\/span>re-write their papers or not graduate. <\/span><\/p>\n Final year students at the English, Economics, Political Science and Psychology departments are the most affected. <\/span><\/p>\n But speaking to Citi News<\/strong>, the Director of Academic Affairs at the University, Enoch Amartey said authorities are working with the student body to rectify the situation. <\/span><\/p>\n According to him, the University has also come up with a new grading system which is still under discussion.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe have come up with this grading system which is still being discussed.The Vice Chancellor met the student leaders to discuss the matter and we are trying to find solutions to whatever grading system we will come up with,\u201d he said <\/span><\/p>\n In that regard, he stated that the school authorities will come up with its final decision after discussions have been concluded.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n By: Marian Efe Ansah\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Authorities at the University of Ghana have denied reports that some students of the University may not graduate this year following the introduction of a new grading system.
