Vice President, Mr Kwesi Amissah-Arthur on Tuesday expressed optimism about the country\u2019s textile sector and called on investors to take advantage of its huge potentials.<\/p>\n
He added that \u201cgovernment will support the garments sector in the country to make it more competitive in the global market.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Vice-President, Mr Kwesi \u00a0Amissah-Arthur made the remark during a familiarization tour of a garment factory, Dignity DTRT Limited in Accra.<\/p>\n
The Managing Director of Dignity DTRT, Mrs. Salma Salifu, together with the company’s co-founder Skip Richmond took the Vice President around the various production units of the factory.<\/p>\n
Mr Amissah-Arthur after the tour said he was very impressed with the company in terms of the job creating opportunities they offer the youth in the country.<\/p>\n
He also commended the management and staff of the company for their hard work and pledged government\u2019s support to help them expand.<\/p>\n
On her part the Managing Director of the company, Mrs Salma Salifu\u00a0said inadequate funding is their major challenge and thus appealed for government’s support to help them expand.<\/p>\n

She also appealed to the Vice President to make it possible for them to access funds from the Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund (EDAIF) to expand their operations.<\/p>\n
Dignity – Do The Right Thing (DTRT) Apparel was established by a Ghanaian company in partnership with its American counterparts, in 2014.<\/p>\n
The factory currently has about 1,500 skilled employees, majority of whom are females, with 40 expatriate management staff.<\/p>\n
