{"id":181143,"date":"2016-01-12T11:20:37","date_gmt":"2016-01-12T11:20:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=181143"},"modified":"2016-01-12T11:20:37","modified_gmt":"2016-01-12T11:20:37","slug":"accra-court-remands-british-murder-suspect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=181143","title":{"rendered":"Accra court remands British murder suspect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An Accra Magistrate court has remanded into Police custody the British national Arthur Simpson-Kent who allegedly murdered his girlfriend, two children and fled to Ghana.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/british-murder-suspect-in-court-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-181157 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/british-murder-suspect-in-court-2.jpg\" alt=\"british murder suspect in court (2)\" width=\"574\" height=\"428\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mr. Simspon Kent who has been charged with murder, was brought before the court for the first time since his arrest to begin extradition processes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Presenting the facts of the matter in court, the representative of the Attorney General, Rebecca Agyare indicated \u00a0that\u00a0Arthur Simpson-Kent was arrested upon a tip off from the UK Interpol showed \u00a0had arrived in Ghana after fleeing from the UK as a result of an alleged murder of his girlfriend Sian Blake and two children.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/british-murder-suspect-in-court-7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-181161 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/british-murder-suspect-in-court-7.jpg\" alt=\"british murder suspect in court (7)\" width=\"768\" height=\"574\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He was arrested at Busua near Takoradi on the 9th of January.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The suspect is believed to have buried\u00a0the bodies of the victims in a shallow grave in the garden behind their apartment at Erith in London.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Attorney General further prayed the court for the remand of Mr. Simpson Kent as both Ghanaian and British Police were still investigating the incident.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/british-murder-suspect-in-court-4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-181159 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/british-murder-suspect-in-court-4.jpg\" alt=\"british murder suspect in court (4)\" width=\"768\" height=\"573\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On his part lawyer for the accused Justice Sai complained about the behavior of the Attorney General and the state security apparatus whom according to him have prevented him from seeing his client since his arrest till today when the case was called.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/british-murder-suspect-in-court-3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-181158\" src=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/british-murder-suspect-in-court-3.jpg\" alt=\"british murder suspect in court (3)\" width=\"536\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Judge, Justice Rosemond Agyiri ordered for the lawyers of the accused be given access to their client and adjourned the case to 26th of January 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By: Fred Djabanor\/citifmonline.com\/Ghana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Accra Magistrate court has remanded into Police custody the British national Arthur Simpson-Kent who allegedly murdered his girlfriend, two children and fled to Ghana.
