The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei has challenged pressure group Progressive Nationalist Forum (PNF) to file a petition against her if they feel she is occupying two positions.<\/p>\n

The PNF group claimed that while Charlotte Osei heads the Electoral Commission, she is also\u00a0a board member of the Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited, a position she held before her appointment at the commission.<\/p>\n

[contextly_sidebar id=”HvFT2PQQLJjc42oYaY1HpMFZuIwk8D4i”]They argued that Charlotte Osei’s action breaches\u00a0 article 44 clause 4<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>of the 1992 Constitution which states that \u2018\u2019the chairman and the two deputy chairmen of the commission shall not, while they hold office on the commission, hold any other public office.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile the Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited had debunked the claims<\/a><\/strong><\/span> saying Charlottee Osei had already stepped down as board member of the company.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Joy FM, Charlotte Osei however said \u201cI\u2019m hoping that whoever made this allegation is going to file some petition, so we will respond when we get there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI did resign but I\u2019m not sure that should be the focus, let\u2019s stick to the Constitution,” she added.<\/p>\n
