{"id":174821,"date":"2015-12-16T19:00:58","date_gmt":"2015-12-16T19:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=174821"},"modified":"2015-12-16T16:36:41","modified_gmt":"2015-12-16T16:36:41","slug":"newspapers-will-remain-relevant-graphic-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=174821","title":{"rendered":"Newspapers will remain relevant &#8211; Graphic CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Chief Executive Officer of the Graphic Communications Group, Ken Ashigbe, \u00a0says regardless of the\u00a0decline\u00a0in the number of\u00a0people\u00a0who resort to newspaper&#8217;s for information,\u00a0the\u00a0print media or\u00a0newspapers will not be totally wiped off.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A recent survey by the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) revealed that only 1.5% of Ghanaians resort to the print medium for information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;krDEZdw7b8xkevnEmD0ikCImgqT8gyrF&#8221;]The survey\u00a0gave radio (62.9%), television (25%), and online media\u00a0(6.4%).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking on the <strong>Citi Breakfast Show<\/strong>, Mr. Ashigbe said\u00a0the newspaper business would remain relevant despite the competition it faces from the digital media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He admits however that the industry may have to modernize to\u00a0become more relevant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cNewspaper, even in the print form, is going to stay. I am of the school of thought that it is going to stay.
