{"id":174213,"date":"2015-12-14T06:16:13","date_gmt":"2015-12-14T06:16:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=174213"},"modified":"2015-12-14T08:56:24","modified_gmt":"2015-12-14T08:56:24","slug":"electricity-water-tariff-increment-takes-effect-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=174213","title":{"rendered":"Electricity, water tariff increment takes effect today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Consumers of both electricity and water will from today [Monday, December 14] pay more for the two utilities as the recent increment announced by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) officially takes effect today.<\/p>\n<p>The 59.2 percent <strong><span style=\"color: #666699;\"><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/12\/07\/electricity-tariffs-up-by-59-2-water-67-2-ahead-of-christmas\/\" target=\"_blank\">increment for electricity<\/a><\/span><\/strong> and 67.2 percent for water, have been met with stiff opposition from Ghanaians, who are citing the harsh economic situation and the energy crises as reasons for their rejection.<\/p>\n<p>[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;0d7ziHgrtjIeQ2PwPF5iCIz9d7CMu4RJ&#8221;]One consumer who shared his frustrations about the recent increment to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, said :\u201cWhen the light is not there, how can they increase it?
