Chief Executive) and Mr. Benjamin Dagadu (Field Evaluation and Development Manager).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;1gPKWZHpAgzePtYjJzdpzYVxPn2uoE71&#8243;]GNPC\u2019s board <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/11\/30\/gnpc-to-pay-tsatsu-tsikata-three-others-ex-gratia\/\" target=\"_blank\">approved the payment of ex-gratia<\/a><\/strong><\/span> to the four who served in different capacities in the company.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Parliamentary Select Committee on Mines and Energy hauled the GNPC heads before it on Wednesday to explain circumstances leading to the payments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the Committee Chairman on Mines and Energy, Ahmadu Sorogho, said the meeting had to be rescheduled to enable GNPC to produce documents to back the payments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said, GNPC had told them that only one out of the four had been paid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe know that the notice for them to appear before us got to them very late so one cannot hold them for not adequately preparing. I think the Chief Executive had it around 8pm through his mail, and so he couldn\u2019t have been well \u00a0prepared in terms of documents,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ahmadu Soroghu noted that GNPC briefed them well enough on the matter but could not substantiate their stance with documentary evidence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201c\u2026They agreed that they have them [documents] but were not readily available to them. So the committee unanimously agreed that they should provide us with those documents latest by Monday; so that on Wednesday; we can meet and conclude on the issue.
