The new app, which wasfirst previewed in October, makes the app look more like Facebook and other social media apps.<\/p>\n<div class=\"see-also\">\n<p>Like Facebook, LinkedIn&#8217;s new app is centered around a central feed, which shows you updates from people in your network and content they are sharing on LinkedIn. Similar to Facebook&#8217;s News Feed, the app filters which updates you&#8217;ll see based on what you&#8217;re most likely to be interested in \u2014 and the company says the feature will get better over time as you use the app more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The home feed is structured a lot like LinkedIn&#8217;s recently-revamped Pulse app so you may also see posts from people in your extended network and articles that are popular among people with similar jobs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The core for the mobile product, the spine of the app, has always been this feed,&#8221; Jonathan Redfern, LinkedIn&#8217;s VP of Product, tells <em>Mashable<\/em>. &#8220;We\u2019ve moved from a feed that was a lot about your connections to a feed that\u2019s more about the professional topics and interests you choose to follow.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"microcontent-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"microcontent-shares\" data-description=\"\" data-fragment=\"m!03ba\" data-image=\"http:\/\/rack.0.mshcdn.com\/media\/ZgkyMDE1LzEyLzAyLzA3L0xJQVBQMS41YTUzZS5qcGcKcAl0aHVtYgkxMjAweDk2MDA-\/9c70a4cd\/bfc\/LI-APP-1.jpg\" data-url=\"\"><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" title=\"LI APP 1\" src=\"http:\/\/rack.0.mshcdn.com\/media\/ZgkyMDE1LzEyLzAyLzA3L0xJQVBQMS41YTUzZS5qcGcKcAl0aHVtYgkxMjAweDk2MDA-\/9c70a4cd\/bfc\/LI-APP-1.jpg\" alt=\"LI APP 1\" width=\"437\" height=\"385\" data-credit-link=\"\" data-credit-name=\"LinkedIn\" data-credit-label=\"\" data-credit-provider=\"Custom type\" data-caption=\"\" data-width=\"2268\" data-fragment=\"m!03ba\" data-image=\"http:\/\/rack.0.mshcdn.com\/media\/ZgkyMDE1LzEyLzAyLzA3L0xJQVBQMS41YTUzZS5qcGcKcAl0aHVtYgkxMjAweDk2MDA-\/9c70a4cd\/bfc\/LI-APP-1.jpg\" data-micro=\"1\" \/><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Outside of the feed, there&#8217;s a &#8220;My Network&#8221; section, which serves up suggested people you may know, as well as cards with bite-sized updates about your connected friends, such as work anniversaries and new jobs. If that sounds familiar, that&#8217;s because it&#8217;s similar to LinkedIn&#8217;sConnected app, which revolves around updates like these.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The app is absolutely flavored with learnings and code from our different apps,&#8221; Redfern says, noting the parallels between both Pulse and Connected.<\/p>\n<p>The updated app also includes the newly-refreshed messaging features and an overhauled search feature that LinkedIn says is 300% faster than the previous app.<\/p>\n<p>All of the new features are available now on iOS and Android.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Source: Mashable<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LinkedIn just gave its flagship app a major facelift.
