The Central Regional Branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has advised party members not to pressurize the President in choosing his running mate for the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would want to crave the indulgence of all party members to be cool headed and not to stampede the President in exercising his right to choose a running mate again and to note that the Mahama -Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur ticket is still valid and will still be valid till 2020 when the party will then have a new ticket.”<\/p>\n

There have been ceaseless calls on the President to announce his running mate for the upcoming polls including a call from the executives of the NDC.<\/p>\n

A group calling itself Volta Youth for Development, suggested the President appoints Speaker of Parliament , Doe Adjaho to fill that position.<\/p>\n

Other names have also come up as possible replacement for Mr. Amissah-Arthur.<\/p>\n

But on Friday the Minister of Communication Dr. Omane Boamah\u00a0stated that the President\u00a0had already settled<\/strong> <\/span><\/a>on the person for the job.<\/p>\n

SELECTION OF THE RUNNING MATE BY THE LEADER OF OUR PARTY<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Central Regional Branch of the National Democratic Congress has been observing comments on the issue of the Presidents choice of a running mate, and other reactions coming from groups within the National Democratic Congress.<\/p>\n

We would like to remind the rank and file of the party that, President Mahama in his wisdom chose Vice- President Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur as an act of gratitude to Prof J. E. Atta Mills, for choosing him as his running mate in the 2008 Elections and we would like to say emphatically that it was the choice of Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur as a running mate in the 2012 elections that did the magic for his Excellency the President and the NDC in that resounding victory.<\/p>\n

We would want to crave the indulgence of all party members to be cool headed and not to stampede the President in exercising his right to choose a running mate again and to note that the Mahama -Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur Ticket is still valid and will still be valid till 2020 when the party will then have a new ticket.<\/p>\n

Our prayers go to the President and his Vice and we pray that God will give them the wisdom to continue to deliver the better Ghana promised for all. Truly, the transformational agenda is being manifested in every district in the country.<\/p>\n
