The Ghana Police service have rejected attempts by the New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) to implicate them in the ransacking of the party’s headquarters.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Police wish to state categorically that it had no hand in the raid that took place at the party\u2019s headquarters, and that its mandate does not include such nefarious activities,\u201d a statement signed by DCOP Rev. David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin, Director-General of the Police Public Affairs Unit stated.<\/p>\n
[contextly_sidebar id=”tpgs6CQYvn88wp9Fub1tTm8QqjKVvrGK”]The NPP after incident\u00a0last Monday by alleged military and Police officers, accused government of sponsoring the personnel to portray the party as a violent one.<\/p>\n
The Ghana Armed Forces had earlier dismissed the claims<\/a><\/strong><\/span> saying its officers did not participate in the ransacking of the Asylum Head office of the NPP.<\/p>\n According to the Police too, they had stayed mute all these while because they are investigating the matter \u201chowever it has become necessary to do so, to set the record straight due to the continuous peddling of this falsehood.\u201d<\/p>\n The Police further assured the public that it is committed to its mandate of maintaining law and order and will continue to protect lives and property without any hindrance.<\/p>\n \u201cWhilst calling on the good people of Ghana to disregard the unfounded allegations, the Police Administration is equally entreating persons who have any information on the unfortunate incident to report to the Police or any appropriate quarters for the necessary action,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
