{"id":169999,"date":"2015-11-27T06:02:44","date_gmt":"2015-11-27T06:02:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/?p=169999"},"modified":"2015-11-27T12:15:53","modified_gmt":"2015-11-27T12:15:53","slug":"ndc-warns-parliamentary-candidates-over-reckless-utterances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/citifmonline.com\/?p=169999","title":{"rendered":"NDC warns parliamentary candidates over &#8216;reckless utterances&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned its parliamentary candidates to desist from making utterances that could jeopardize the party&#8217;s image since the candidature of such persons could be withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the NDC, any elected person must know that they are not official candidates of the party yet \u201cuntil the General Secretary signs them off and the Electoral Commission sends out notices of polls to that effect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[contextly_sidebar id=&#8221;ONzcn4jiEYWJPi2q7dJGbbuegv4PQyVI&#8221;]In a statement signed by the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho, he said, \u201cany NDC person who has won primaries, and goes against the accepted or approved rules of engagement, and abuses the sensibilities of the party via their actions or utterances, shall have his or her candidature withdrawn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The statement follows the revelation by the former Deputy Minister of Gender and Social Protection and \u00a0NDC MP for Gomoa Central, Rachel Appoh, who confessed \u00a0to paying money to have people endorse President John Mahama in the party\u2019s recently held primaries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Later in an interview\u00a0on <strong>\u00a0Citi<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Eyewitness News<\/strong>, Koko Anyhido asked\u00a0the parliamentary candidates to desist from making such \u201creckless utterances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cBetween now and next year when the General Secretary has to do that endorsement and the EC has to\u00a0 accept you, if people have won primaries and so they want go on a reckless binge and make reckless comments, the party has every right to withdraw their candidature. And I state that emphatically as a party executive. Let them continue to make reckless statements, and we shall have the unpleasant duty of withdrawing their candidature,\u201d he added<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #666699;\" href=\"http:\/\/4cd.e16.myftpupload.com\/2015\/11\/25\/probe-vote-buying-in-ndc-primaries-karbo\/\" target=\"_blank\">pressure from the NPP<\/a><\/strong><\/span> for Appoh to be investigated, Koku Anyidoho said\u00a0\u201csomebody has made a statement, if the NPP wants to go after her, let them do that;\u00a0but they can\u2019t go after the party.
